ABOUT
Originally from China, GeXuan is a LA-based composer that started writing music in 2013. She was accepted to Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood, where she graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Composition and Film Scoring. Having grown up in China, GeXuan An has the ability to combine sensibilities of asian culture and sound with the western tradition of film scores and traditional composition. While at MI, GeXuan was selected to participate in the MI Film Intensive for Composers program, mentored by Hollywood film scoring professionals through the process of scoring a film. Through this program GeXuan scored her first film, “Loner”.
CURRENT
GeXuan is getting her graduate degree in Jacobs School of Music, majoring in Master of Scoring for Visual Media.
WORKS
MUSICAL STYLE
As a media composer, GeXuan understands the dramatic needs of a visual project through character development and ensuring and emotional musical identity to each project. GeXuan can write and arrange in different styles, from classical, to jazz, to rock, and is comfortable working with both live orchestras and contemporary bands.
